19th Century Antique Bronze Sculpture by Mathurin Moreau “The Storm”
A rare antique bronze sculpture by Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912). This sculpture showcases a group of mothers with children in a storm entitled ‘TEMPETE’. The mother is supporting a small child in her left arm, with a young girl huddled beside her. Additionally, the mother carries a fishing net and walks barefoot over the rocky ground, her shawl blowing in the wind. The sculpture’s circular base is signed ‘Math Moreau Hors Concours’, and stamped ‘MEDAILLE D’HONNEUR’, brown patination. A beautiful red marble base supports the sculpture. This wonderful bronze sculpture is very tall. A truly unique piece of art that is ready for your home.
