Bauhaus Sofa, Germany, circa 1930s
A very modern and beautiful Bauhaus Sofa from Germany. This piece dates back to the 1930’s and features a traditional Bauhaus style.
The sofa’s armrests and feet consist of tubular polished steel tubes. The steel tubes that hold the piece up and line the back really give the sofa a modern touch. A high-gloss black lacquer covers the bottom frame. The bottom frame is made of softwood.
The sofa’s new upholstery features a fabric from the JAB Anstoetz collection. The fabric showcases black velvet dots on a white ground. It is very funky and reminiscent of the Art Deco period. The fabric consists of Velvet: 100% viscose, Ground: 55% viscose, 30% cotton, 15% polyester. Additionally, the sofa comes with two black velvet cushions. In general, this sofa offers very comfortable seating.
The pairing of steel, black lacquer, patterned fabric, and velvet makes for a very eye-catching piece. Overall, this modern and stylish sofa would be a great addition to any home.
