Classicist, early cherry wood Biedermeier armoire from South Germany, circa 1820.
Bright cherry solid wood with box fillings, wonderful shellac hand-polish.
It has little ebonized parts, like the inner edges of the box fillings, the middle bar and party of the cornice and plinth.
Ebonized, convex half-columns with chased brass capitals and bases frame the two doors.
The armoire has wonderful original brass fittings, key and hinges.
It also has an old box lock.
Inside, the armoire has 4 inlay plates, covered with black cotton fabric.
Dismantleable in the middle, for easier transport.
The armoire measures Height: 75.59 inches, (192 cm), Width: 51.57 inches (131 cm), Depth: 28.34 inches (52 cm).
