Biedermeier Armoire, Cherry Veneer, Germany, circa 1820
Original large early Biedermeier Armoire in French polished cherrywood, from Rhineland, Germany circa 1820. Wonderful, light cherry veneer, hand-polished with shellac (French Polish).
It has a beautiful big veneered cornice. A classicist arch decorates the doors and it has four lockable big drawers in the bottom. Ebonized ovals around the keyholes and ebonized inner edges of the arch at the front.
The interior has three shelves covered with black fabric. Working, old box lock. It can be dismantled into foot, head and two side parts, rear walls and doors.
Overall a wonderful piece of Biedermeier furniture that is ready for your home.
