Biedermeier Cherrywood Table, circa 1830
Biedermeier cherrywood table, made of veneered cherry wood. It has a round top with multiple mirror veneer. The substructure consists of an ebonized hexagonal central column, which narrows at the bottom, ending at 3.94 in (10 cm) from the base plate. The central column rests on a base plate with three curved legs.
The round top screws onto the column.
This Biedermeier cherrywood table has a restored surface, polished with shellac. It is in good condition, with slight signs of wear in accordance with age. These include minor scratches. It also had veneer tension cracks that have been restored. There are smaller veneer additions in the area of the frame, but they are professionally executed.
