This exquisite Biedermeier cabinet derives from the Saarland region in Germany and dates back to 1841.
Two columns with finely carved capitals frame the central door of the glass cabinet. The stepped top has a beautifully carved acanthus leave decoration in the middle. All three sides are glazed. Additionally the base has one central drawer.
A hidden signature and description inside the top of the Biedermeier cabinet identifies it as a masterpiece of a fellow guild member. The signature says: “Anton Herman, fellow guild member in Hengstbach (Saarland), January 18, 1841”.
Every fellow of a guild, in this case the cabinet maker’s guild, had to produce a masterpiece at the end of his apprenticeship to get a master craftsman certificate. Our glass cabinet is one of these unique and original masterpieces and therefore of very high quality.
This is an extraordinary piece for any Biedermeier collector.

Items are typically delivered within 2 weeks of the purchase date.
