Cherry Biedermeier Secretary Desk, Germany, 19th Century
This cherry Biedermeier secretary desk comes from Germany circa the 19th century. The piece features pine wood with a cherry wood veneer. When opening the main section the doors transform into a writing desktop revealing a section with multiple small drawers and documents shelves. Below the writing top you will find three spacious drawers with original locks and fittings, and another one above the main section, all lockable with keys. The chest is set on four tapered legs that add extra lightness and elegance. This secretary desk has undergone a professional renovation process. Surface is finished with shellac polish, applied by hand which in addition to excellent visual effect protects and cares for the wood. The main section showcases beautiful detail in traditional ink on wood depicting floral motives. Absolutely exquisite piece, fully ready for everyday use.
