Round Biedermeier Sewing Table | South Germany, Circa 1825
This elegant piece comes from South Germany and dates to around 1825. It features fine walnut veneer over softwood, with a striking burlwood inlay and ebony edging at the center of the tabletop.
A single drawer reveals a light maple wood interior and a fold-out pincushion. Ebonized, curved square-tapered legs support the piece with style and stability. The center tableau still shows traces of the original sewing basket, adding historic character.
Restorers finished the table with a traditional hand-polished shellac, giving it a rich, deep sheen.
