Elegant Austrian Biedermeier walnut box, crafted circa 1840. The piece features beautifully grained walnut veneer on solid maple wood, exemplifying the understated refinement of the Biedermeier period. A mirror glass inset in the lid, replaced at a later date, adds a subtle reflective accent.
The box is fitted with brass hinges, a key, and an iron lock. Inside, traces of earlier fittings remain visible, adding historical character. Restored and hand-polished with shellac, the surface displays a warm and lustrous finish.
A timeless decorative piece — perfect for collectors or as a refined accent on a desk, console, or dressing table.

Upon inspection, if you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller.
