German Baroque Walnut Chest of Drawers with Rocaille Inlay, circa 1720
This German Baroque walnut chest of drawers, dating to around 1720, features three drawers with an elegant curved front, characteristic of early 18th-century Baroque furniture.
The dresser displays a rich walnut veneer, enhanced by delicate rocaille inlay work across the drawer fronts and top. The flowing ornamentation and balanced proportions reflect the craftsmanship and decorative refinement of the Baroque period.
A skilled restoration refreshed the surface with a traditional hand-applied shellac polish, preserving the character of the wood while giving the piece a warm, luminous finish.
This chest offers both historical presence and practical storage, making it a refined statement piece for classic and contemporary interiors alike.
