This exceptional 18th century Baroque chest of drawers was crafted in Germany around 1750. The piece features a distinctive bombe shape with a protruding middle section, three spacious drawers, and two pull-out shelves.
The chest is veneered in walnut with a sophisticated play of lighter and darker shades, including sections of root walnut that create depth and contrast on the front. The top is richly decorated with geometric marquetry, divided into two fields with intricate inlay work, while the sides display large diamond-shaped motifs. It retains its original 18th century ormolu fittings, which add refinement and historic authenticity.
Expertly refinished, this antique Baroque commode is both functional and decorative. Its sculptural form, elegant veneer patterns, and marquetry details make it an ideal statement piece for luxury interiors, grand entryways, or refined living spaces.
