Exquisite 18th century Gustavian Pier Mirror, Stockholm circa 1780.
Carved and partly gilt mahogany wood decorate this beautiful mirror.
The Swedish Gustavian Style was named after King Gustav III of Sweden (reign 1771-92). Gustav III visited the French Court during the reign of Louis XVI several times and loved the French neoclassical furniture style and brought it to Sweden. This pier mirror is a great example for the adaption of French Louis XVI Style elements during the Gustavian Period.
The mirror is in good condition. It measures Height: 75.6 in. (192 cm), Width: 28.75 in. (73 cm), Depth: 3.94 in. (10 cm).
