Fine Biedermeier Walnut Table, c. 1820–1825
Rare Museum-Quality Austrian Antique Table
We are pleased to present an exceptionally rare and elegant large fine Biedermeier walnut table, crafted in Vienna around 1820–1825. Authentic Biedermeier tables of this caliber are increasingly difficult to find, especially in such beautifully preserved condition. Large pedestal tables from Vienna remain among the most sought-after examples of early 19th-century Austrian craftsmanship due to their limited production and masterful construction.
This antique walnut table represents the pinnacle of Viennese Biedermeier design. The round, book-matched walnut-veneered top glows with a deep amber tone and a rich, natural patina developed over two centuries. Finished in traditional French polish, the surface displays a soft, luminous sheen that enhances the beauty of the wood grain. The top rests elegantly on an ebonized vase-shaped pedestal, anchored by a distinctive three-disc walnut-veneered base — a perfect balance of proportion and refinement.
Defined by its harmony of simplicity and sophistication, Biedermeier furniture bridges classical restraint and modern sensibility. This table integrates effortlessly into both traditional and contemporary interiors, offering warmth, elegance, and a tangible link to European design history.
