19th Century Nicola Palizz Oil Painting on Canvas Italian Landscape
We present this fantastic 19th century oil on canvas painting attributed to Nicola Palizz. The painting features the initials NP at the bottom left (see photo). Attributable to the Italian painter Nicola Palizzi (Vasto, 20 February 1820 – Naples, 20 September 1870) as per the plate on the frame, painted without authentication.
This is a painting of great artistic quality, the sensitivity of a 19th century painter towards the representation of landscapes is clearly visible. The bright colours of green vegetation capture the attention well. In the foreground a small lake fed by a rushing stream creates movement and liveliness to the scene, the presence of water justifies a rich and luxuriant vegetation. Within the background on the left you can see a country house with two characters probably working in the fields. In the background, large hills full of vegetation stand out against a clear sky with some light clouds.
the work is accompanied by a beautiful antique gilded wooden frame that has some defects, the canvas has undergone restoration as shown in the photos on the back. A work that will surely enrich your collection of 19th century old landscapes.
