Elegant French Art Deco expandable dining table, crafted around 1930 and showcasing the luxurious materials and refined geometry that define the Art Deco period. The table features stunning Thuja root veneer across the top and legs, finished with a beautifully preserved high-gloss clear lacquer that highlights the wood’s rich grain and remarkable depth.

The sculptural lyre-shaped legs create a striking architectural silhouette. Two polished steel tubes connect each pair of legs, while chrome-finished metal trims accent the bases, adding the sleek industrial details characteristic of French Art Deco design.

This versatile dining table extends with three newly crafted extension leaves, each measuring 45.5 cm (18 in). Reproducing extension leaves is common practice for expandable tables of this age, as the originals were often lost over time. The new leaves have been ebonized and finished with a traditional French polish, creating a sophisticated contrast with the warm Thuja veneer while respecting the table’s original design.

The table accommodates one, two, or all three extension leaves, allowing it to adapt to a variety of dining arrangements.
