Pair of Art Deco Serpent Andirons in the Style of Edgar Brandt, France, 1920s–1930s
This striking pair of French Art Deco andirons features dramatic serpent-form uprights in forged iron. Each serpent coils into a graceful spiral, with its head rising at the top and its tail resting on a small iron sphere. The flowing design gives the andirons a sense of movement rarely found in traditional fireplace accessories.
The design reflects the celebrated style of Edgar Brandt (1880–1960), the master French ironworker who transformed decorative iron into an art form. Brandt combined the organic elegance of Art Nouveau with the bold geometry of Art Deco. His serpent motif became one of his most recognizable signatures and appeared on fireplaces, consoles, lighting, and other decorative objects.
The serpent has long held symbolic meaning in European decorative arts. It represents wisdom, renewal, and transformation, making it a powerful decorative motif as well as a sculptural one.

Items are typically delivered within 2 weeks of the purchase date.

On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for full cost of return packing & shipping.
The items are insured during the shipping process and the shipper’s insurance will cover the cost for any damage caused by the shipper during the shipping process.
