Antonello Mosca for Cinova Model 1008 CC Italian Modern Sideboard, Italy, c. 1969
A rare Italian Modern sideboard / five-drawer chest, Model 1008 CC, designed by Antonello Mosca for Cinova, Italy, circa 1969. High-gloss black lacquer, mirror-polished chrome, black glass, and solid beechwood create the sophisticated material contrast typical of late 1960s Italian design.
The sleek black lacquered cabinet contains five wide drawers. In contrast, two cylindrical chrome columns on one side introduce a distinctive asymmetrical, architectural element. Above, a removable black glass top sits within a substantial overhanging band of polished chrome, which emphasizes the strong horizontal profile.
Inside, Cinova crafted the five drawers from solid beechwood. Their warm natural tone contrasts beautifully with the reflective black and chrome exterior while highlighting the quality of the cabinetmaking.
Cinova production literature documents the piece as Model 1008 CC and links the design to Antonello Mosca. However, some secondary sources also credit Sergio Mazza, who designed for Cinova during the same period.
Overall, the bold proportions, luxurious materials, and restrained black-and-chrome palette make this rare Cinova sideboard an excellent example of late 1960s Italian Modern furniture. It works beautifully as a sideboard, dresser, or statement storage cabinet in modern and contemporary interiors.
