Large Biedermeier Wardrobe, Cherry, Walnut, Ebony, Brass, Southern Germany circa 1820
A large Biedermeier wardrobe, or armoire, from Southern Germany. This piece dates back to 1820. This early Neoclassical wardrobe features a cherry veneer with fillings in walnut and ebony. The wardrobe showcases a beautifully straightened design with original fittings in brass. Most notably, the front of the wardrobe holds a magnificent original brass lock. A black fabric completely covers the interior of this wardrobe. This piece has ample storage space thanks to the four shelves found within. The wardrobe is restored and hand polished with shellac. Overall, a unique Biedermeier wardrobe that would make a great addition to any home.
