Antique Swedish Mora Clock in Turquoise and Gold, Early 19th Century
A decorative antique Swedish Mora clock dating to the early 19th century, featuring a later turquoise painted finish with elegant gold detailing and a beautifully aged patina.
The clock displays the characteristic sculptural silhouette of traditional Swedish Mora clocks, with a gently curved case and decorative fan motif at the base. Gold-painted accents highlight the carved details and create a striking contrast against the turquoise surface.
The original Roman numeral dial retains an attractive aged appearance, including some areas of enamel loss and lifting consistent with its age. Furthermore, the wooden case shows natural distressing and movement acquired over more than two centuries, adding to its authentic character.
The clock retains its original mechanism and pendulum and is sold as a decorative piece, without guarantee that the movement is in working order. Upon request, it can be fitted with a professional high-torque battery mechanism for timekeeping (+£295) or a chiming mechanism with recorded chime, volume control, and an eight-hour nighttime shutoff (+£395). Please allow approximately two weeks for a mechanism conversion.
An additional 18–21 day preparation period applies before collection for shipping.
Please note that antique wood naturally responds to changes in temperature and humidity. Consequently, some movement or splitting may occur as the clock acclimates to a new environment.
