Every Biedermeier table has a different veneer pattern, this is what makes these tables so special. Additionally, the bases can also vary a lot. In our case the table’s foot has the form of a baluster and it stands on a tripod base. Foot and base are also decorated with walnut veneer. This tables sits up to 6 people. It could be used as a dining table, but would also be the perfect center table.
Historical Background
The Biedermeier style dates back to the first half of the 19th century. Its development is connected to the historical events after the Napoleonic Wars in Europe. During the Biedermeier period the middle class emerged and became, alongside the noble clients, the new commissioner for home decorations and furniture.
Sleek designs characterizes the Biedermeier style. And, compared to the pompous 18th century styles, it appears to be understated. Nevertheless, it shows an elegant use of form and a love for details.
