Biedermeier Drop Front Desk, South German 1820.

This unique and very beautiful Biedermeier drop front desk dates back to the early phase of the Biedermeier style. It has a beautiful walnut veneer on the outside. The lower part has two door with one shelf behind them. The writing top and the lower doors are framed by two ebonized columns. The upper part has a protruding drawer. Another highlight of this secretaire is the inside of the writing compartment, decorated with elm veneer. The middle part is decorated with three arches below one larger central drawer. There are three small drawers on each side and the open middle compartment is decorated with a mirror in the back, two framing ebonized columns and a checkerboard floor.

The Biedermeier desk measures : Height: 63.39 in. (161 cm), Width: 38.19 in. (97 cm), Depth: 21.66 in. (55 cm)

The veneers used here are elm and walnut. The secretary desk comes refinished and French polished. It ships from Germany and includes shipping costs to Boston.
