Biedermeier Secretary Desk, South Germany 1820
This extraordinary Biedermeier Secretary Desk dates back to around 1820 and comes from southern Germany. The unique desk has a very pretty walnut veneer on the outside, with a beautifully designed mirroring veneer pattern. The secretary desk has three sections. The uppermost one has a central, slightly protruding door, below is the central writing flap with a hexagonal decor on the outside and the lower part has two drawers with a merging arch decor. The inside of the writing compartment combines a central arch with an open compartment which is framed by eight slightly protruding smaller drawers, they feature a pretty maple veneer. Additionally, one larger drawer and a secret compartment offer additional storage space. This gorgeous secretary desk combines the strict lines of the Biedermeier design with a very appealing walnut veneer grain and charming details in the inside of the writing compartment.
