French 1970s Rattan Bottle Holder
This French rattan bottle holder, dating to circa 1970, combines practical function with the warm, tactile character of traditional French basketry. Its compact structure is carefully woven from natural rattan, creating an elegant decorative accessory with an unmistakably handcrafted quality.
The open construction keeps the silhouette light and visually uncluttered. At the same time, the woven material introduces texture and warmth, allowing the piece to function as both a useful bottle holder and a decorative accent.
Natural Rattan Construction
Rattan was widely appreciated in French decorative arts for its combination of flexibility, durability, and natural beauty. Here, the material is shaped into a balanced holder designed to accommodate and display bottles while maintaining a refined architectural profile.
The even weave and carefully proportioned structure highlight the craftsmanship of the piece. Rather than relying on elaborate ornament, its appeal comes from the relationship between natural material, geometric construction, and practical purpose.
Versatile Decorative Accessory
Measuring approximately 26 cm wide and 23 cm high, this rattan bottle holder has a compact footprint that makes it easy to incorporate into a variety of interiors. It can be used in a dining room, kitchen, bar area, library, or living room.
Moreover, its natural tone works equally well with traditional furnishings and contemporary interiors. Displayed on a console, sideboard, or open shelf, it adds an understated French decorative touch while retaining its original functional character.
