Late 17th Century Louis XIV Solid Walnut Wardrobe
A rare Louis XIV solid walnut wardrobe from the late 17th century. This beautiful Italian antique can be used as a wardrobe or armoire.
This line of wardrobes is typical of the period. Many people wanted furnishings of great grandeur made of solid walnut wood. Only people of high social standing were able to afford the type of furnishing in the 17th century.
Decorative panels with a geometric pattern line the doors and inside of this wardrobe. It is internally equipped with a rod for hanging clothes. Originally, there were shelves but they have now been lost. It is possible to add shelves to the wardrobe if the customer wishes.
The top hat of the wardrobe has a secret compartment, the top rises and can hold your confidential items.
