Oil Painting on Canvas Forest Landscape, Late 19th Century
We present this splendid Italian oil on canvas painting of a forest landscape dating back to the end of the 19th century. The painting has two initials on the lower left “ST” but the artist has not been identified and the painting is lacking authentication.
It is a woodland landscape where in the foreground on the left a lush and ancient oak tree captures the attention. We underline the high pictorial quality clearly visible in the details, in the application of the color and in the use of light that emphasizes the shapes of the trees in the foreground to vanish in the background in the darkness of the forest. An approach to painting that would suggest on the part of the artist a propensity towards the Macchiaioli style.
The painting is accompanied by a beautiful antique wooden frame decorated with silver leaf. The frame shows some traces of wear.

Parcel Delivery

Only pieces that can be safely packed in a box or envelope may be shipped via parcel.

Items are typically delivered within 2 weeks of the purchase date.

On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for full cost of return packing & shipping.

All sales are final once buyer or buyer’s agent takes possession of an item.
Upon inspection, if you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller.
