Rare Red Kartell Dining Table by Anna Castelli Ferrieri & Ignazio Gardella, circa 1967
This rare red Kartell dining table, designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri and Ignazio Gardella around 1967, is a striking example of Italian Mid-Century Modern design. With its sculptural silhouette, vibrant original red finish, and innovative materials, the table embodies the experimental spirit of Italian furniture design during the 1960s.
Manufactured by Kartell in Noviglio, Italy, during the late 1960s or 1970s, the table features a circular top and a distinctive base crafted from fiberglass-reinforced polyester. A chromed metal ring adds a refined contrast to the bold red surface, emphasizing the table’s modernist aesthetic.
Despite its visually lightweight appearance, the table is exceptionally sturdy and substantial in construction. Its generous round tabletop makes it an ideal centerpiece for a dining room, while its sculptural form also lends itself beautifully to contemporary interiors, art-filled spaces, and eclectic design schemes.
The table retains its original, well-preserved red finish and is in very good vintage condition, showing only minor scratches consistent with age and use.
