French Louis XVI Marquetry Side Table, Paris, circa 1770
An elegant 18th-century French Louis XVI side table, made in Paris circa 1770, featuring refined geometric marquetry and beautifully contrasting veneers.
The table features three small drawers, a practical lower shelf, and a marble top surrounded by a delicate brass gallery. The front and sides are decorated with geometric marquetry in mahogany and yew wood, highlighting the sophisticated craftsmanship of the Neoclassical period.
Expertly refinished with a traditional hand-applied shellac polish, the table is in very good condition and retains the warmth and character of its historic veneers.
With its slender proportions and useful scale, this French antique side table works beautifully as an occasional table, bedside table, or decorative accent in both classic and contemporary interiors.
