This pair of Jindrich Halabala armchairs has curved ebonized beech armrests and legs. The chairs are a great example of the European Art Deco Style. They have a new upholstery and fabric and are in very good condition. The armchairs measure: height: 29.53 inches (75 cm), width 27.95 inches (71 cm), depth: 31.89 inches (81 cm), the seat height is 16.54 inches (42 cm)

Jindrich Halabala (1903-1978)
Jindrich Halabala helped create a new mass-market approach to home design and furnishing in Czechoslovakia in the interwar period and after the Second World War. He believed furniture could and should be well-finished, fully functional, modular, mobile and widely affordable.
As chief designer of the large Brno-based furniture producer United Arts and Crafts Manufacture (UP), he significantly influenced its manufacturing program from the 1930s on – pioneering the industrial manufacture of furniture in Czechoslovakia.
He developed two fundamental series of modular furniture: lines H and E, and many types of wooden seating. He also designed innovative tubular steel furniture, produced in UP’s HodonÃn branch.
The permanent collections of Moravská gallery, Brno and the Olomouc Museum of Art have Halabala furniture on display. Additionally, there was an exhibition commemorating Halabala which toured major cities of the Czech Republic.

Items are typically delivered within 2 weeks of the purchase date.
