A distinctive antique Swedish Gustavian chest of drawers dating to circa 1850, featuring an unusual black painted finish and elegant Neoclassical detailing.
The commode features three spacious drawers with brass ring pulls, while finely ribbed decoration along the top rail and drawer fronts emphasizes its classic Gustavian character. In addition, carved vertical columns frame the façade, and the shaped plinth rests on characteristic pyramid-form feet.
The black painted surface gives this traditional Swedish chest a particularly striking appearance. At the same time, natural paint distressing and signs of wood movement preserve the authentic character expected from a piece of this age.
Structurally sound and suitable for careful everyday use, the chest will receive treatment against woodworm prior to shipping. The locks are decorative only. Please note that the color may vary slightly depending on individual screen settings.
