This exceptional antique Swedish Mora clock dates to the early 19th century. It features a rare faux wood grain folk art finish and a beautiful Roman numeral clock face.

An inscription inside the pendulum door dates the painted finish to 1893. The clock therefore appears to be older than its current decoration. This later folk art finish gives the piece a highly unusual character.

The case has the classic shape of a traditional Swedish Mora clock. Its elongated belly flows into a very narrow waist. Carved swags, scrolls, and details decorate the case and pedestal base. Natural wear and distressing reflect the clock’s age and history.

The clock retains its original mechanism and pendulum. We sell it as a decorative antique and cannot guarantee that the original movement works.

If desired, we can install a professional high-torque battery movement for timekeeping for an additional £295. We can also install a chiming mechanism for £395. This option plays a recorded chime and includes volume control and an eight-hour nighttime shut-off.
