Art Deco / Olympic Games Berlin 1936 Table Lamp
Rare Art Deco / Olympic Games Berlin 1936 table lamp in gilt brass with a square lampshade decorated with copper roundels and a triglyph frieze. This refined modernist design stands on four square-section supports mounted to a square base engraved with the Olympic Games emblem, linking the piece directly to the celebrated 1936 Berlin Olympics period.
Produced in Berlin in 1936, the lamp is numbered 1357 and engraved “WerkeAG” on the lampshade. Its geometric composition and architectural detailing reflect the elegant transition between Art Deco classicism and early modernist German design.
The lamp has been newly rewired and is fully functional. A second similar example is also available.
An exceptional and historically evocative decorative lighting piece for collectors of Bauhaus, Art Deco, Olympic memorabilia, or 20th-century German design.
