Neoclassical Settee, South Germany 1790-1815
This unique Neoclassical settee dates back to the late phase of the Neoclassical style and the early phase of the Biedermeier style and comes from Southern Germany. The elegant settee features a cherry veneer and and walnut veneer with pointed wood inlays in the shape of garlands. The open back and side rests are additionally embellished with ebonized rods, which give the settee a modern touch. It comes refinished with a shellac finish and has an updated upholstery, which is covered with a new pretty JAB Anstoetz woven Chenille fabric “Balou” in black.
