Biedermeier Side Cabinet, Northern Germany, circa 1820 – Mahogany Veneer
This elegant early 19th-century Biedermeier side cabinet from Northern Germany dates to circa 1820. Master craftsmen created the piece in fine mahogany veneer, highlighting the dramatic grain patterns that define the Biedermeier period.
The cabinet features a graceful curved front and a single door. Full columns with black hand-carved capitals and bases frame the door and add a refined neoclassical accent. Inside, two shelves provide practical storage.
A professional restorer recently refinished the surface with a traditional hand-applied shellac polish, which enhances the depth and warmth of the mahogany. The cabinet presents in very good condition.
