Biedermeier Walnut Chest of Drawers, South Germany 1820
This elegant original Biedermeier walnut chest of drawers dates back to around 1820. It was made in southern Germany. The four drawer baker chest has a beautiful walnut veneer. A writing compartment is hiding behind the slightly protruding upper drawer. Once you pull it out you can flip down the front. Four small drawers and a central open compartment decorate the inside of this drawer. The writing surface is ebonized and the light beech veneer of the drawers create a pretty contrast to the darker walnut of the dresser and the black of the writing surface.

The dresser is in very good refinished condition with a hand polished shellack finish.
