Danhauser Console Table, Vienna 1810.
This beautiful Danhauser console table has a pretty walnut veneer. The rectangular console table stands on a concave shaped base. Two curved legs with kyratiden shaped capitals and partially gilt lion claw feet carry the top. The top has one drawer. The design of this piece makes a connection likely with the workshop of Joseph Ulrich Danhauser (1780-Vienna-1829). Danhauser was a craftsman of the early Biedermeier period in Vienna, he honored the simplicity of the period. Yet he found in it the means for true, extravagant beauty.
This unique and very rare example of an early Biedermeier piece comes refinished and has a shellac finish. Please ask us for a shipping quote.
