Small Biedermeier Wall Mirror, Cherry Veneer, South Germany, circa 1820
A small Biedermeier wall mirror featuring a cherry veneer and solid wood. The mirror comes from Southern Germany and dates back to 1820. This Biedermeier mirror contains a curved cornice (or “Karnieschwung”) and has clearly visible original glass. The stepped top elegantly arches over the mirror and contains tasteful variations of wood color. The walnut veneer is especially beautiful contrasted against the darker top and bottom of this antique mirror. This unique piece would be a great addition to any home.
