Davenport desk, Germany, 1870.
Small and narrow desk with inclined top table and box with lid. Its shape responds to the typology known as Davenport desk. It has a beautiful walnut veneer with an engraved leather top and floral marquetry details. The lower part has one door.
Historic Background
The name dates back to the first commissioner of a piece with these characteristics, Captain Davenport to Gillows of Lancaster at the end of 18th century. This desk model was very popular during the 19th century.

It is in very good condition. 35.44 in. x 23.63 in. x 19.69 inches (90 cm x 60 cm x 50 cm). Height from floor to writing top: 31.49 inches.
