Swedish Biedermeier Dining and Carver Chairs in Golden Birch with Ormolu, Late 1800s
This rare set includes four dining chairs and two carver chairs in Biedermeier style, crafted in Sweden between 1870 and 1900. Made from flame golden birch veneers, they feature curved seat backs, a carved central motif, and gracefully curved front legs. The honey-colored French polish enhances the wood’s beauty, while ormolu-style details add a refined touch. Fully webbed seats ensure excellent comfort for extended dinners.
The original fabric, though worn, will remain on the chairs during shipping. Reupholstery is recommended, and we offer this service for an additional fee if you supply the fabric. Before shipping, we will also repolish the chairs, restoring their shine. The French polish’s reflective nature might cause slight color variations under different lighting.
Images show the chairs before repolishing, which will deepen the finish and slightly alter the color. Studio lighting was used, so the final appearance may vary. This set is a rare find and an exceptional example of Swedish antique craftsmanship.
