Eliana Lorena graduated from the University of Milan with an Art History degree in 1977. Soon after, she began working with Elio Fiorucci. After that, she had an apprenticeship at the Center of Design in Montefibre (CDM).
In 1989, she set up the Metals Group with Aldo Petillo and Davide Mercatali to conduct research into the processing of metals. Due to that experience, she focuses on delving into the relationship between materials and technology.
Eliana Lorena is a consultant for various brand such as Fiat, Lancia, Eurojersey, Piaggio, Marcarté, Cassina Lualdi Porte, etc. She holds seminars at the Domus Academy and at the Brera Academy. She also teaches as a visiting professor at other institutions.
