Credenza by Michael Mittelman
The modern credenza by Michael Mittelman is a masterpiece of the M. Stahl Furniture collection. This piece features carved padauk over hickory doors, legs made of curved padauk and hickory, and padauk side panels. The top has been coated with epoxy to endure anything, and then sprayed with several coats of satin finish to ensure the top finish matches the rest of the piece.
Stahl Woodworking Description:
Stahl Design is a custom furniture and lighting company which grew out of the sculpture practice of Michael Mittelman. In addition to degrees in art from Wesleyan University and Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Michael studied at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
Michael’s design process is intuitive and iterative. Combining contemporary manufacturing and traditional woodworking, he has developed innovative visual elements and reinterpreted classic motifs. He uses a broad variety of wood species to provide color and texture, and his designs include large sweeping curves and small details. Michael prepares extensive computer renderings to create masterpieces in collaboration with his clients. The final piece has the exquisite finish that only comes with dozens of hours of hand sanding and finishing. Each piece truly glows from his master craftsmanship.
