Biedermeier Cherry Wood Secretary Desk
This rare cherry wood secretary desk stands out for its very pretty continuous mirrored cherry veneer picture. The writing flap is flanked by flat pilasters. The interior has a Thuya burl veneer. The secretary desk comes from South Germany and dates back to around 1820.
Top restored and shellac hand polished. H: 61.42 in (156 cm), W: 41.34 in. (105 cm), D: 19.69 in. (50 cm).
The austere finish and simple form is characteristic of the early Biedermeier period.
