Historical Background
The Louis XV and Louis XVI style experienced a revival in the middle of the 19th century. The sophisticated marquetries and veneers of the 18th century furniture styles were still very much appreciated. Some of the 19th century furniture makers specialized in these furniture styles again and produced a variety of models.
