Set of Six Charles X Walnut Inlaid Dining Chairs, Italy, First Half of the 19th Century
This elegant set of six Italian Charles X dining chairs dates to the first half of the 19th century and beautifully reflects the refined craftsmanship of the period. Crafted from solid walnut, the chairs feature gracefully shaped heart-form backrests with delicate maple inlay, creating a striking contrast that highlights the cabinetmaker’s skill.
The front legs are finely turned, while the rear legs follow the elegant saber form characteristic of the Charles X style. Generously padded seats provide excellent comfort, making these chairs suitable for both everyday dining and formal entertaining.
The walnut frames remain in excellent antique condition with only minor wear consistent with age. The upholstery is structurally sound; however, the current fabric shows stains and wear. Reupholstery is recommended, offering the opportunity to customize the chairs with a fabric that complements your interior.
