19th Century Biedermeier Secretary Desk with Roll Top and Walnut Marquetry, Germany
This beautiful 19th century Biedermeier secretary desk comes from Germany. The piece features coniferous wood with an extraordinary walnut veneer. Including a detailed marquetry with floral motifs and a figure of a young man, perhaps a young hunter. When pulling up the rolled top, the center part unfolds easily into a writing desktop revealing a section with multiple drawers. Below the writing top you will find two spacious drawers with original locks and fittings. The chest is set on four tapered legs that add extra lightness and elegance. This secretary desk has undergone a professional renovation process. Surface is finished with shellac polish, applied by hand which in addition to excellent visual effect protects and cares for the wood. Absolutely exquisite piece, fully ready for everyday use.
