Rare original Biedermeier swivel chair or bergere chair, armchair or club chair from South Germany about 1820. Cherry veneered and solid. Newly upholstered with black mottled velvet fabric and double keder. Base on 4 legs with veneered frame. Top rotates 360 degrees with metal swivel mechanism. This is an extremely rare piece, which was made made before the Centripetal Spring Armchair was invented. This antique chair comes restored and hand polished with shellac, ebonized edge.
